Georgina Starr | You Stole My Look  | Performance  |  Paris  | 1997

For the launch of the Starvision comic book in Paris in 1997 Georgina Starr invited five French women to wear the clothes she had worn during the making of the book. In an ironic take on the comic book 'cut-out' fashion spread and the notion of the female double, the women attended the exhibition opening as 'Georgina Starr'. The five Starvision looks were advertised as being available 'for sale' (at haute-couture prices) inside the comic book and illustrated on a large silk-screened poster in the exhibition. Afterwards the clothes remained on display in the gallery.
